Chasing a score of 162, KKR found themselves reeling at 101-5. Pat then played the best IPL innings of his career and steered the team across the finishing line. KL Rahul (Kings XI Punjab)

KL Rahul fastest 50 in IPL sits at number three position in all-time records. In the second match of IPL 2018, Kings xi Punjab were playing against DD in their home ground, Mohali. Batting first, Delhi Daredevils 166 runs. The Punjab openers then stepped into the crease with the sole intention of scoring the required runs as fast as possible.

Rahul trashed the bowling attack and scored the fastest half century for Punjab Kings. It took just 14 balls for him to get his 60 runs, which eventually helped the team win by 6 wickets (with 7 balls remaining).

Sunil Narine (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Sunil Narine fastest 50 in IPL came in just 15 balls. During a match against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, KKR came to bat second with an objective of chasing 159 runs. West Indian mystery bowler Sunil Narine came into the crease alongside the power hitter Australian opener, Chris Lynn.

Right from the word go, Naraine started smashing the bowlers out of the park. All thanks to his 15 ball half century,  KKR managed to win an away game by 6 wickets (with 29 balls remaining)

Yusuf Pathan (Kolkata Knight Riders)

When we talk about the fastest 50 runs in IPL, the knock that Yusuf Pathan played for KKR way back in 2014 has to be regarded as one of the all-time best. Venue Date: Eden Gardens, May 24, 2014. Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and scored 160 runs. KKR then came down chasing and immediately found themselves struggling.

3-77, after the end of 10 overs and from there on, Yusuf Pathan took charge of things. He scored 50 off 15 balls and then added 22 more runs in just 7 balls. Thanks to this thrashing, KKR won the match convincingly.

Nicholas Pooran (Lucknow Super Giants)

At number 6, we’ve got Nicholas Pooran fastest 50 in IPL 2023 for Lucknow Super Giants against RCB. It was the 15th match of the season, and oh boy, how well the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was lit up with fours and sixes. Batting first, the home team scored a mammoth 212/2.

While the chase looked nearly impossible at first, Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis ensured their team won the game. While the latter scored 65 runs in 30 balls, the former trashed the bowling to score 62 off 19. It included a blazing 15-ball half-century.

Fun Fact: Yuvraj Singh fastest 50 in IPL and international cricket combined came way back in 2012 when he scored a breathtaking half-century against England in just 12 balls.

Suresh Raina (Chennai Super Kings)

Playing for Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab, Suresh Raina fastest 50 in IPL came in just 16 balls. Batting first, Kings XI Punjab scored 226/6. Chasing that down, CSK lost their first wicket at the score of 1 run. Then came Mr IPL Suresh Raina, who offered the team the required stability.

He scored quick runs, but due to the lack of support from other batters, Raina’s inning of 87 runs (25 balls) wasn’t good enough for the team to win. The team fell short by 24 runs.

Chris Gayle (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

Chris Gayle, the explosive West Indian batsman, etched his name in the annals of IPL history during the 31st match of the 2013 season.

In a blistering display of power-hitting, Chris Gayle fastest 50 in IPL came in 17 balls against the Pune Warriors at Bengaluru. But he didn’t stop there. The left-hander continued his onslaught, eventually amassing an astonishing 175 runs off just 66 balls. His innings included a staggering 13 boundaries (4s) and an incredible 17 towering sixes.

To date, it is the fastest 50 in the IPL that went on to score a century.

Adam Gilchrist (Deccan Chargers)

In the second season of IPL, Australia’s power hitter, wicketkeeper batter Adam Gilchrist, clutched the record of IPL fastest 50 in IPL. Chasing a target of 154 against Delhi Daredevils at Centurion, the captain of the Deccan Chargers wasn’t holding himself back. He scored his half century in 17 balls and went on to pile more runs.

Gilly lost his wicket after scoring 85 off 35 balls. But his innings that included 10 4s and 5 6s ensured a win by 6 wickets (with 14 balls remaining)

Chris Morris (Delhi Daredevils)

At number 10 in our list of fastest 50 in cricket IPL, we date back to Apr 27, 2016, when Guj Lions were playing Delhi Daredevils in the 23rd match of the season at Delhi. Gujarat Lions batted first, and thanks to some brilliant knocks by Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum, they put up a target of 173.

Delhi, in response, was never in the game. At 4-57, Jean-Paul Duminy tried to offer some resistance but fell flat. Out of nowhere, Chris Morris scored a 17-ball half-century and gave Delhi some hope. Despite scoring 82 off 32 balls, the Guj Lions won by 1 run.
