IPL 2024 Start Date
The official start date has already been announced, this IPL 2024 season will be played from the 22nd of March to the 26th of May. The 2023 edition was played from 31st March to 29th May.
While the Covid-19 pandemic affected the schedule of the 2020 and 2021 editions, the prior IPL tournaments also ran from late March to May. The IPL is usually expected to kick off on the last Saturday of March while the final takes place on the final Sunday of May. Thus IPL 2024 timetable is expected to last from 22nd March to 26th May 2024.
IPL 2024 Teams List
As mentioned above, India Premier League 2024 is expected to feature the same 10-team format. There will be 70 group matches. The four top teams will reach the playoffs, which consist of two eliminators, a qualifier, and a final. With no addition or exclusion of any franchise, the ten teams will continue to be as follows:

IPL 2024 Schedule
IPL 2024 is expected to follow the format introduced with the 2022 edition.
Ten teams will be divided into two virtual groups. Each team is set to play 14 games. This includes two matches against the four teams in their group (home and away). Additionally, they will face four teams from the other group once and compete in two matches against the remaining team.
The IPL 2024 points table will dictate the remaining fixtures. After the 70 group matches, there were two eliminators, one qualifier, and the final, making it a total of 74 games in the IPL 2024 match list.
The defending champions Chennai Super Kings are likely to feature in the opening match of the season on the 22nd of March 2024. The final is expected to take place on 26th May 2024.

In the 2023-2027 IPL media rights auction, Star Sports secured domestic TV rights, and a Viacom18 (Jio Cinema) consortium won streaming rights totaling over US$6.2 billion. This made IPL the second-highest valued sports media property globally.
